A well marked Missouri Pacific Crosby single chime steam whistle. The Missouri Pacific did a fine job of marking their whistles in various places. The outside of the valve is cast with MOP, the bowl is cast with 01440, the top of the whistle is cast with 01515 and is stamped MOPRR in serif font and is finally stamped 01515.The entire whistle shows various areas of typical railroad wear including some minor dents, scratches and tool wear. The valve does not have a return spring and the fulcrum and valve moves freely. The whistle measures approximately 16" tall by 6" in diameter.This whistle can be picked up from our Lafayette, Indiana warehouse, crated and shipped anywhere in the United States and Canada, or delivery can be arranged for the Gaithersburg, Maryland railroad show in early November.This whistle is part of Rail & Road Auctions "Sound it and Sell it!" event in partnership with the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation. This whistle will be blown on live steam during their October 5th, 2024 whistle blow in Irvine Kentucky.
