Steam Gauge & Lantern Co. brass top, bell bottom lantern with C&M RR embossed on the shoulder. C&M could stand for Chicago & Milwaukee, or Columbia & Montour, or Caledonia & Mississippi, or other C&M railroads. Lantern has three small dents in the brass top and is otherwise in good shape, with no holes and strong joints. Burner pot and fount are present. The tall clear globe is cast with C&M RR in a trapezoidal panel on the front. Globe has no clear maker's mark, thick walls, an extended base, and two small chips off the top edge.
